AIR LIQUIDE : France: Contract with Nanomakers in Nanopowders

Regulatory News:

Air Liquide (Paris:AI):

The nanopowders are a high-potential market. More and more manufacturing sectors are including nanopowders in the composition of their products: electronics, optics, manufacturers of mechanical parts, energy, environmental preservation and medicine.

Air Liquide announces that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Nanomakers , a French company specializing in the production of high grade silicon carbide nanopowders .

Air Liquide will supply silane, hydrogen, acetylene, argon and equipments for the first industrial facility operated by Nanomakers, which is scheduled to go into production in late 2011 in Rambouillet (France). The R&D teams at Air Liquide will offer their scientific expertise in the areas of gas analysis and purification.

Present today in the French and Japanese markets, Nanomakers produces nanopowders used in industry to strengthen the mechanical and thermal resistance materials properties. The company has a partnership with the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA) - French Atomic Energy Commission. Gases such as silane, hydrogen and acetylene are injected with other raw materials into a reactor that is confined and protected by an argon atmosphere. A CO laser generates a steady stream of pyrolysis, which produces ultra-homogenous and ultra-pure silicon powders.

François Ténégal, CEO of Nanomakers, commented: " The reliability of the gases supply chain, the technical expertise of teams and their competency in an area where the safety issues are significant are all factors that contributed to our decision to choose Air Liquide. Today, our business is experiencing strong growth, in terms of both personnel and the conquest of new markets. This partnership will contribute to our own development."

Augustin de Roubin , Vice President for Southern and Eastern Europe and a member of the Executive Committee of Air Liquide, said: " We are delighted to support Nanomakers, an innovative company, in its development, particularly as it begins the process of manufacturing nanopowders in France. High technologies are a growth driver for the Group".

How long ought to I keep champagne?

Those of you who have visited the Champagne region will have seen the a heap of miles of underground tunnels carved out of the chalk where there’s high humidity, little light, no disturbance and where the temperature is a ceaseless 100 C all year round; in short, the perfective conditions for storing champagne for a great deal of years.

Back home most of us don’t have the same facilities for keeping wine, so the firstborn piece of counsel shouldn’t surprise you: don’t keep your champagne too long!

The issue of storing champagne may be rather a elaborated question, so for now Iet’s just say that the longer you keep champagne, the dandier the probabilities you’ll be disappointed when you at last open it, so to be safe don’t keep it more than a few months or a year at most, unless you’ve got a outstanding cellar.

Where to keep champagne

The actual temperature at which you store champagne is less primary than the fluctuation in temperature, so keep your champagne in a spot that doesn’t have too much variation in temperature – next to the oven is not a good idea.

Champagne will keep very well for various weeks in the fridge and when you do this you always have a bottle ready to open whenever the chance presents itself.

If you’ve got a bottle in the fridge you won’t be tempted to pop a bottle in the freezer to cool down. This is not a outstanding idea; detached from the peril that you’ll forget it, the rapid change in temperature is not good for a wine.

Believe it or there is such a thing as gout de lumiere or taste of light, so store you champagne away from intense lights and be wary of bottles beneath spot lights in retail stores.

It applied to be the case that champagne had to be stored horizontally so that the cork stayed moist and didn’t arid out, therefore letting air into the bottle and spoiling the wine. However the quality of the cork has bettered in recent years and now it doesn’t matter whether you store the bottle horizontal or vertical.
