Soft Gel Tech Develops Israeli Heart Supplement
LOS ANGELES– Soft Gel Technologies Inc . developed and manufactured Ta’am Teva Altman ’s recently launched cholesterol-lowering supplement, No-Sterol, expanding Soft Gel’s presence in Israel. No-Sterol contains recommended dosages of phytosterol, omega-3 fatty acids and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), all of which have been linked to cardiovascular health.
In May 2011, the Israeli Heart Association followed the American Heart Association’s (AHA) recommendation to consume omega-3 fatty acids and phytosterols for cardiovascular health. Approximately 150 to 400mg of phytosterol is consumed from food sources, and raising the daily intake to an average of 2 grams utilizing dietary supplements can lead to the reduction of cholesterol levels by 10 percent to 15 percent, according to the Israeli Heart Association.
The Israeli Health Ministry has aligned itself with FDA’s amended regulation that authorizes a health claim regarding the relationship between phytosterols and reduced risk of coronary heart disease.
Steve Holtby, president and CEO, Soft Gel Technologies Inc., discusses how CoQ10 benefits heart health in a recent INSIDER article, “ Scoring a Perfect 10 ."
Ta'am Teva Altman promotes its products through physicians, dietitians, Naturopaths and acupuncturists as well as CAM practitioners. They distribute to retailers including pharmacies, drug stores, HMOs and Health food stores. Ta'am Teva Altman is owned by the Maabarot Group.
