Games Inbox: Remembering Day Of The Tentacle, PSVita sticks, and the NeXtbox 360

Hey GC as always loving your work, my reason for putting thumb to keypad is to say I can get my head around and accept a download only future on two conditions, the first being that I still will be able to own a copy of my purchase (cloud gaming as I see it, for me anyway, is a no-no). If I'm paying money for something I want to own it in some form or another! Most games try and offer a balance; something which I think Batman: Arkham Asylum did perfectly. I personally worry about the quality of the sequel purely because I think the larger you make the game the more diluted it becomes. You then end up with sections that are there to add scale but in practical terms all this generally adds is blandness to trudge through. The Metroid Prime games were criticised for making the player revisit areas multiple times. This is something I felt was unfair. All it really did was use an older game design idea of making as much out of every area as possible. Back in the olden days when the size of a game was limited everything in the game world had purpose. Now quite a lot of the world is simply to add to the ambience.  If this is done well it is amazing: see Red Dead Redemption but that is pretty much the stand out exception due to the uniqueness of its setting. RE: Tom Glover. I myself am very interested in the PSPVita (despite the name) and the fact you can play deeper games on it is the selling point for me. It's great to be able to play these games when you don't have access to the house's TV, while the girlfriend catches up with her programmes. Also, I think the PSone games (and PlayStation 2 for Vita) will just make more sense on a handheld. I think rumours of the PlayStation 4, or whatever it's called, coming out sooner than anticipated could be true and may be due to the advancement of cloud computing. Perhaps Sony have realised that physical consoles don't have long left and, having no doubt spent millions on research and development, want to get it on shelves as soon as possible for fear of it becoming obsolete before it's even been released.

BRI. Its worth doing just to get the catherine demo. If it isnt legal then thats alot of ps3 and 360 owners in trouble.
