Weekender: Beat the heat with Vegas's coolest shows

Blue Man Group is an entertainment experience like none other. While it doesn’t have some of the grandoise spectacle and theatricality of many other shows, the sometimes-interactive antics of Blue Man Group will have you laughing the whole time you are there. And like any other Vegas show, there are parts that will awe you – just wait for all that neon to come to life. Shows are every night at 7 and 10, with tickets starting at $101.85.

Le Rêve turns even the wildest dreams into reality. Franco Dragone depicts a fantasy world of fire and water, with aerial and aquatic acrobats performing impressive maneuvers for a solid 75 minutes. The circular theater ensures that no matter where you’re seated, you’ll have a great view of the action. Tickets start at $108.90, with showings Friday through Tuesday nights at 7 and 9:30.

Terry Fator is one of the most talented performers on The Strip, just going from the sheer amount of things you’ll see in his show: The “America’s Got Talent” winner is a ventriloquist first, but also an excellent singer and comedian. It’s like you’re getting three shows in one. Fator hits the stage Thursday and Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $96.94.

Bring on the laughter

The Playboy Comedy Club hosts Ian Bagg and Ryan Hamilton Thursday through Saturday at 10 p.m., with an extra show Saturday night at 8. Bagg is a favorite on late-night talk shows and standup specials, while Hamilton has a critically acclaimed act and has even been mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine for his comedy writing. Tickets start at $39.99.

Don Barnhart and Jen Kober will be at the Brad Garrett Comedy Club at the Tropicana Thursday through Sunday night. Barnhart is an alumnus of the famed Second City comedy club and improv school, while Kober has appeared on TBS and HBO comedy specials, in addition to making an appearance on the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” The show starts at 8 p.m., with an added performance Friday and Saturday at 10. Brad Garrett himself will also make a special appearance during the show June 30.

Steve White and Sid Davis take the stage at the Brad Garrett Comedy Club Monday at 8 p.m. Tickets for all Brad Garrett Comedy Club shows start at $37.40.

Radio and TV star Joe Rogan brings his stand-up act to Mandalay Bay Friday night at 9. Rogan might be best known for “Fear Factor,” but he has been appearing on Comedy Central, released several CDs and DVDs and even provides commentary for UFC. Tickets start at $35.

The hockey star joined the blue trio on stage as a special guest during the critically acclaimed show. The 26 year old is the NHL’s only 50-goal scorer for the 2010-2011 season and one of three finalists for the league’s Hart Trophy (MVP) award. In addition to being part of the Anaheim Ducks’ Stanley Cup championship team in 2007, Perry won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics with Team Canada and is currently in line for several 2010-2011 season awards including Hart Memorial Trophy, Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award.
