Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando has been named the world's best theme park for the second consecutive year, while Tampa's Busch Gardens earned newfound notoriety among travel enthusiasts.
The Florida attractions were named the world's two best theme parks, ahead of Disney California Adventure, in a poll conducted by the travel website ThemeParkInsider.com.
The vote was based on average reader ratings in various categories over a 12-month period.
Universal's Islands of Adventure continues to capitalize on the popularity of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, while Busch Gardens was recognized by the website for the first time, coinciding with the opening of the Cheetah Hunt coaster on Memorial Day weekend.
